ABOUT ABOUT

Trisha Meili is an amazing woman whose mesmerizing, inspiring and often wrenching story is one of human strength and transcendent healing. It is the story after which Achilles has named its signature race -- Hope & Possibility. Trisha will recount her story as only she can on the eve of the 15th annual running of the Hope & Possibility race in Central Park!  We hope you will join us!

Achilles International is a non-profit organization which empowers people with all kinds of challenges to compete in mainstream athletics, thereby improving their lives. Trisha became involved with Achilles during her rehabilitation from the attack she suffered in Central Park on April 19, 1989 when she was beaten, raped and left for dead. For years thereafter, referred to only as the Central Park jogger, Trisha received an outpouring of caring and love from the public and those around her.

It took many years of grace, help, perseverance, and above all else - a sense of hope & possibility - to make her message her own and in 2003 her best-selling memoir was published. In it she explains that the outpouring of support gave her a sense of hope, and with hope, possibility emerges!  With love at its core, it is a beautiful story of healing and survival. Meet Trisha Meili and listen as she shares her remarkable story.

Doors open at 3:30 pm - General Admission / Program begins at 4 pm / There will be a limited number of books available for sale and signing.
